Pistols must be stainless steel or carbon steel and in stock, unmodified condition. Currently we are not accepting aluminum alloy frames. Nickel plated firearms must have the nickel finish stripped/removed prior to machining.
The following brands are suitable: Colt, Springfield, Dan Wesson, Kimber, Wilson, Nighthawk, Ruger, Remington, STI, Ed Brown, Sig Sauer, JEM, and Caspian, with full length grip frames (i.e. Government or Commander/Champion sized). If your frame is not on this list, please drop me an email.
Of course, the frontstrap must be smooth and not have any checkering or other frontstrap treatment already cut. Bobtailed frames are not suitable. Refinishing
There are simply a myriad of refinishing options out there to meet every need and budget. After your pistol has been machined, you can opt to have it
1. Refinished and returned to you ready for action. For this program, we offer a satin matte finish on stainless steel pistols, or a satin matte blue for blued pistols. Polish work on frame/slide flats is not available directly from us. *See note below regarding pistols which cannot be blued*
2. Returned to you "in the white" for final finishing by the refinisher of your choice. The machined surfaces are given a light bead blast.
Stan Chen Custom is partnered with Glenrock Blue for bluing. Glenrock Blue offers Traditional Bluing and Cerakote. They can also do fine grade polish work on your frame and slide flats, if desired. We have a great relationship with our friends at Glenrock, Stan Chen Custom machined pistols will received 15% off.
