The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.

Shooter installed magwell
It's rare for me to do a review,but this definitely deserves one. I have a Springfield MC Operator, I first bought an Ed Brown magwell because of good reviews, it was an okay piece no big complaints from me, until I received the Chen SI Magwell ,this thing blows the Ed Brown magwell out of the water. This Chen magwell is bad ass , the fit ,finish, and attention to detail on the machining makes a perfect fit on my Springfield. I was a little bit hesitant on buying the Chen do to price and probability of not liking the look and fit ,and having to deal with a return shipping,but this turned out to not be the case. I love this magwell ,after installing it the price was no longer a factor. I can't speak of fit on any other brand 1911 ,but it was meant to be on a Springfield MC Operator from the way I see it fit . So that I didn't waste the Ed Brown magwell it went to my Philippines made 1911, the MC Operator deserves the Stan Chen SI shooter installed Magwell. Thank you Stan for an Amazing piece of art to complement my MC Operator, and the bag of M&Ms was a nice touch to :) William

Flawless finishing and the fit was so perfect on my 10mm TRP it didn’t need any fitting. The 25lpi checkering on the back and the round butt are very impressive machining. Highly recommend this magwell!

SI Magwell
I've been shooting 1911s since I was a kid. I shot them for 30 years in the Marine Corps, and I currently hold a Master classification in the Single Stack Division for USPSA. I've shot all the magwells out there. The Stan Chen SI Magwell is my favorite "by far" for USPSA and for everyday carry. The Stan Chen SI Magwell is the perfect combination of style and function. I am in the process of switching all my 1911s over to the Stan Chen SI Magwell. Should have made the switch a long time ago. Thanks for making a great product.

CHEN SI Magwell - Exceptional fit and finish
After purchasing my first 1911 I was in search of a blued, one-piece magwell. My search led me to the CHEN SI Magwell and after reading many positive reviews I knew it was the one I was looking for. The most important aspect of this magwell was that no modification or blending of my 1911 was necessary. I was immediately impressed with the overall quality and the installation was a snap. The fit and finish is truly exceptional, worth every penny. I would highly recommend this magwell.

Great looking piece of equipment. No rough spots or defects. Blended without any work and it does change the flow of the mag insert from typical magwells. I also like how the lips of the magwell extend to the front of the frame and flows nicely

The customer installed magwell
Amazing and interesting part to place on my side arm. The Steve Chen customer installed Manuel fit without any modification whatsoever. Now there is fitting that’s gonna be needed and needed to be done but it’ll fit. The way the Steve Chan custom, Manuel blends into whatever grinding is done on the frame of the 1911 the blend is so beautiful to look at and requires very little work on that end. Would recommend for any budding gunsmith, owner, enthusiast of 1911 to put one of these on their own pistol to make it work.
