The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.

Best magwell!
I have a Les Baer & decided to give the Stan Chen SI magwell a try. There was about .005" interference on the bottom ledge of my frame stopping the MSH pin from going in. I slowly filed a bevel on the frame, MSH/magwell now goes on TIGHT and with ZERO gap below the frame. I expected WAY more work, as Les Baer frames can be non-standard sizes. Couldn't be happier, best magwell for a single stack 1911 PERIOD.

Haven't received it yet (Updated)
On my previous review I was responding to a request for a review of an item I had not yet received. So, I obliged the request. It was more of a dig at Fed Ex than Stan Chen Customs. Upon receipt of the SI Magwell, the first order of business was to watch the video of Stan Chen explaining the entire process. Having been an Instructor in a past life, I give kudos to Stan for a very professional and complete how to video. It leaves nothing out and includes a few little nice to know things. After gathering the required tools, I set about the task with the video at hand just in case. The video is just under 9 minutes and I completed the install in just over 10. The fit and finish of the SI Magwell is top shelf. It actually outshines the Colt that I installed it on. Perfect in all aspects. The added swag in the box plus the Peanut M&M's made this something extra. The hand written personalized thanks is also a touch that is too often overlooked in our hurry scurry lives. I thank Stan Chen for being the professional that he is and his pursuit of being the best and making the best product is a gift to all who appreciate the 1911. This is my first purchase from SCC, but it most certainly will not be my last. I look forward to adding more SCC parts to my 1911's to make them better than they were. Thanks again Stan.

SI Magwell
Patients paid off, this is by far one of the best Magwells For a 1911. Easy to install matches up perfect to most frames. My two pistols, however, have been flawless. This is my second Chen Customs Magwell That I have installed. I plan to purchase other products from this company.

Shooter installed magwell
I've tried (I think) about every 1911 shooter installed magwell on the market. The Stan Chen SI magwell checks all of the boxes. 25 LPI checkering, sturdy, absolutely beautiful lines, flawless function and it comes in stainless and blued (black.) I've used them on Colts, Springfield Armory, and Kimbers - with VZ G10 and Altamont wood grips. They go together easily with basic tools. The end result is a functional and flawless work of art that won't break the bank. I put one on every new 1911 I buy now.

Haven't received it yet.
It is very difficult to review something that I haven't yet received. I ordered over a week ago and requested FedEx 2Day delivery. It is in transit somewhere. Stan might make some of the best parts and the greatest full house 1911, but his supply chain could use some work.
