The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.
Made in-house at Stan Chen Custom, Durango, CO, USA

Chen SI Magwell
Very nice, quality stainless steel magwell with large funnel and still compact enough for concealed carry. Installation was easy and required no gunsmithing or fitting.

Si magwell, blued
I've used magwells from several different companies , the higher end models, on a plethera of 1911 builds in the past 20 years. The Si magwell I just installed on a new springfield operator blew them all clear off the map! The fit and finish are exactly what you would expect from a custom shop with Chen's reputation for perfection. Fit and finish were flawless. Snug in the mainspring housing track, sits tight against the bottom of the grip, no play or light shows at all. The "well" is true to description and flows nicely into the pre-flared magazine opening on the operator. The mainspring hole looked honed with no drag whatsoever on the spring and plunger. Checkering was sharp on the backstrap and it looks like Chens shop to a lesson from the great Clark CG and has a very nice melt to exposed edges and a rounded butt. BEST MONEY IVE SPENT ON A MAGWELL.

Outstanding 1911 Magwell...
I purchased this Stan Chen S.I. Magwell to replace the standard Mainspring Housing in my Springfield Armory 1911 Operator, and I must say that it took me all of 6 minutes to make the trouble-free switch. The fit, finish, and overall install of this magwell is phenomenal, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone wishing to upgrade their 1911 with the absolute best one-piece MSH & Magwell available. Everything lined up perfectly and it functions without a hitch; truly an outstanding 1911 magwell. Bravo Zulu!

SI magwell
Great piece with a great fit. Would have given 5 stars but the finish on the checkering on the last row could be better. The cut run a bit long. A boarder on the bottom row would finish this piece very nicely

Put a SS MWell on my Magnum Research 1911, about a 97.5% perfect match up with the frame. Well done Mr. Chen, well done. My daughter thnx you for the M&Ms. Thnx.

Wow! The best!
I am getting ready to take down Stan's buddy Lance Barrick on mag reload time. You can view Lance's mag reloads on Stan Chen's Facebook page. The SI Maxwell is great!
