The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.

Fantastic product, even better customer service
I own a Series 70 Kimber Custom Classic Royal. It's over 20 years old and has an aluminum frame. I emailed Mr. Chen with a bunch of questions about fit and compatibility. Mr. Chen answered each email quickly and professionally. The magwell shipped very quickly and installed easily (or so my gunsmith tells me). It's fairly low profile, yet still big enough to do its job. I am exceptionally happy with this item. Oh, I emailed Mr. Chen asking for advice on which grip panels would fit best with his SI Magwell, since the grips he sells on his site are specific to the Chen Magwell Gen2. Even though my question wasn't directly about one of his products, he still took the time to email me back his recommendation. Even if I hadn't received such positive information about his magwells from various forums, just the customer service I received made me choose to buy the magwell.

Shipped within 24 hours. Received nicely packaged along with a hand written note and instructions plus a bag a peanut M&Ms. Very nice touch. The magwell itself was high quality, finished nicely and fit perfectly. Highly recommend Stan Chen products.

SI "Shooter Installed" Magwell
Replaced a SA Magwell which served it’s purpose for the time, but the Chen SI Magwell is a cut above the rest. The Magwell arrived super fast and installed without a problem. I highly recommend this Magwell. The M&M’s were a nice touch also!
