The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.

Beautiful part. What really sets it apart is that the funnel isn't cut at a constant angle. It gets steeper around the corners of the mag opening so you get a larger, smoother, more organic mate with the factory bevel. It also puts more material at the front edges for a little extra strength. Pretty nifty bit of machining. Makes everyone else's magwells look cheap.

Makes me just want to collect and admire the part ! It’s so well made that I want to order another one for a “future” 1911 purchase... I’m just curious that it did not come with M&Ms... and I wonder what the M&Ms are for?? But I really appreciate the cap and hope I can get another one for the wife

These are hands down the best drop-in magwells on the market. Not only do they look amazing, the form and function is perfect. I bought one for my SA TRP just to see, and ended up buying a second magwell for my DW Valor. Fit on both pistols was perfect! Stan is a talented individual, and treats every customer with the upmost respect and gratitude. I highly recommend the "Shooter Installed" magwell!

Chen SI Magwell Springfield loaded 1911
I have not worked on many 1911s so this was my first experience taking one down this far. Not a bad experience at all and I love it. Every bit as good as my Kimber and would recommend this to any 1911 shooter. Cant wait to buy another 1911 so I can put another magwell on!
