The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.

Another amazing product
The pictures don’t do this one-piece magwell justice. It is designed and produced with the highest quality in mind, not to mention giving a checkering nod to Mr. Checkering himself, Pete Single. This piece is so perfect I’m going to build a gun just for it.

New Chen SI Magwell
You certainly get what you pay for! This new SI magwell is a welcome addition for my 1911’s. I purchased the stainless model. The fit & finish are what you’d expect from Stan Chen. A perfect slide-in fit. The fit inside the magwell is flush with no stubble. A well made addition. Thank you for the nice work!

SI magwell
Ordered the SI Magwell when it was announced and they quickly shipped it out. Beautifully machined and the Pete Single checkering is perfect. The contours of the magwell flow very well, beveled in the right places for a seamless fit on my Colt. I have the stainless version and will get the blue for my others. If u are looking for a 1 piece design I highly recommend this. Saves a lot of time on blending and having to refinish it after install. If u r worried about a flush fit to the bottom of the frame get the no hole option when it comes out.

Chen SI “Shooter installed” magwell
I’d been hearing about this magwell for months and was not disappointed when I got one! Very nicely designed and constructed. No sharp edges or bad machining. The opening is huge! It needed gunsmith fitting due to my pistol. At the introductory price it was a great value and I finally have some Chen goodness on my 1911!

Superb!
Installed on a 2015 Colt WC Lightweight Commander, very nice piece, no fitting required. Superb machining and finish, not a flaw to be found. The feel is excellent and magazines quickly insert without interruption. Brilliant decision by Stan to have Pete Single perform the 25lpi checkering, it’s perfect.
