The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.

More than worth the hype.
I bought both this Stan Chen and a Wilson Combat. Both were highly recommended. The WC required 3 hours of hand fitting and I wasn’t satisfied. The Stan Chen Magwell was 100% drop in, plug and play. It also looks better, as in way better. I have another 1911 planned and will be coming back for another one. Definitely found out why the hype was insane and that hype actually understates how good this product is. Now it’s my Go-To Magwell.

SI Magwell
I ordered this for a series 80 colt from the 80s that I am working on. The finish, checkering are perfect. As noted on the website it did require a little filing of the frame to blend in with the inside bevel of the magwell. I would highly recommend this product.

Chen Custom SI magwell
This is the 2nd. magwell I have purchased Stan Chen. Installed this on a Savage 1911. Took 2 minutes to install. Perfect fit am very satisfied once again.

Installation was simple, Very minor shaping of the frame magwell to meet the new Chen Magwell. Checkering is crisp. Highly recommend!

SI Magwell
Just finished the installation of my second SI Magwell in 10 days. Both were on recent Colt pistols, a Model O1911SE-A1 and a Model O4940XE Combat Commander. Truly dop-in, total installation time for each was 15 minutes, including removing grips, swapping the internals of the original MSH and installing the new SI Magwell. These SI Magwells improved the aesthetics if each pistol 100%. This is a quality product, fit and finish are outstanding, I could go on, but probably no need. If you have 1911 pistol(s), you need a SI Magwell.

Chen SI "Shooter Installed" Magwell
Exactly what I was looking for and installed very easily. I completed the installation in less than half an hour and I am not a gunsmith by any stretch of the imagination. Perfect for my Springfield Operator 4.25 inch. Love it!
